Cosmetics brand Urban Decay edges ahead online through digital retail design that encourages shopper engagement and drives sales.

Summary

Urban Decay is beauty with an edge. Since 1996, the company has been giving consumers hip, cool alternatives to boring cosmetics. Today, Urban Decay creates trend-setting cosmetics for customers located throughout North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. It also happens to be the largest independently owned color cosmetic company in the world.

Characterized as feminine, a little dangerous, and a lot of fun, Urban Decay appeals to celebrities, rock stars, and anyone who relishes her individuality and dares to express it. The feeling is readily apparent on the Urban Decay website, bringing the same avant-garde appeal to the online shopping experience.

Working closely with Urban Decay's ecommerce team and under the direction of Wende Zomnir, executive creative director and cofounder of Urban Decay, LiveAreaLabs continually optimizes the ecommerce website. We regularly review user feedback and web analytics, and draw on our ecommerce design experience to improve customer engagement, shoppability, and ultimately sales. In addition, we routinely work with Urban Decay to design new standout features like interactive shopping apps, product locator tools, and enhanced customer reviews.

We appreciate their willingness to dig into potential design and development challenges with a desire to achieve the most relevant solution for our unique brand. We look forward to the continued partnership."
