Product Launch Video

Parallels Desktop

These videos for Parallels got popular on the Internet, made their way onto TV, and converted customers at an unprecedented rate.

Summary

Some people are Windows loyalists. Others are dedicated Mac-ophiles. And for those who want it all, there's Parallels Desktop for Mac. As "the #1 way to run Windows on a Mac," it's the perfect option for people who want the latest from Windows and the greatest from Mac on a single machine.

With a global product launch just around the corner, Parallels asked us to create a series of videos as support. We didn't have a lot of time, but we still took the necessary steps to ensure we were telling the right stories. So the first thing we did was a little social media monitoring. We believe businesses can use social networking to tap directly into customer needs and desires, and create a much more powerful message as a result.

Once we identified what our target audience cared about—like how to choose virtualization software and answers on switching from a PC to a Mac—we were able to concept and script the videos with sharp focus. We initially created the videos to support sales in North America, but then they went global, with localized versions supporting ecommerce in more than 40 countries.

The results, if we may say so ourselves, were astounding. The videos got popular on YouTube. They made their way into a review by Walt Mossberg, personal technology columnist for The Wall Street Journal. Then they aired on television during an segment with Mossberg on Fox Business.

But nothing can beat the sheer numbers: these videos achieved the highest conversion rate in the history of Parallels.

From Our Client

"I highly recommend LiveAreaLabs for high-impact video work. Parallels has worked with them on a number of projects, each being even more successful than the last. Their videos for the launch of Parallels Desktop for Mac drove the highest number of lead conversions for online content in Parallels history. And they were created on a very tight timeline and budget, but the service and the quality were top-notch."
