Brooks Sports designs and markets high-performance running shoes and apparel in more than 40 countries. They create innovative gear that keeps people running longer, farther, faster, and happier. The company lives and breathes two core tenets: "Run happy" and "Find the perfect ride for your stride."
To that end, Brooks offers shoes for every type of runner. Male or female. Road or trail. Those with high arches and those with low. With the goal of pairing all these runners with their perfect fit, Brooks asked us to create a shoe finder. Knowing they'd work with us to make it awesome, we enthusiastically agreed.
The Brooks Shoe Advisor is a charming, colorful, highly interactive, full-screen HTML experience with two main shopper flows. First up, the "Switcheroo" path makes it easy for runners to switch from another brand to a Brooks shoe. Enter gender and current shoe, click "ok, swap" and voilà—there's the Brooks shoe. Second, a beautiful, fun, five-step process wittily guides both the newly committed and the type-Aers (and there are quite a few of them) to the perfect fit.
Today, the Brooks Shoe Advisor is one of the most heavily trafficked parts of the Brooks site. It scores high marks for being useful, easy and, yes, actually fun. Plus, site analytics clearly show that users are highly likely to both purchase and share results with friends. So that's something.
